Staatsburg Landing

The late Governor Morgan Lewis’s residence at Staatsburgh, five miles north of Hyde Park, is also worthy of notice. On the opposite side of the river is Pelham, a small landing, two miles south of Esopus Meadows, the name given to a number of extensive marshes, covered with water at high tide. Near these is Esopus lighthouse.
