New York City's first Episcopal Church was first built in 1698 on the west side of Broadway at Wall Street. in the 1740's and 50's the church was renovated to accommodate its expanding parish.
In September of 1776 during the occupation of New York City a fire broke out which reduced Trinity Church to rubble. The church was rebuilt after the Revolution.
